Terms of Agreement

By creating an account, accessing, or using Story Retells (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Agreement ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

The Service includes both Grade Level worksheets and Language Proficiency worksheets aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Your use of either track constitutes acceptance of these Terms in full.

Story Retells is an AI-powered reading comprehension worksheet generator built specifically for Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and English Language instructors. The Service may also be useful for teachers, reading specialists, and other professionals seeking to support reading and language development.

The Service offers two worksheet tracks:

1. Grade Level worksheets (Middle School and High School); and

2. Language Proficiency worksheets aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels A1 (Beginner), A2 (Elementary), B1 (Intermediate), and B2 (Upper Intermediate).

The Service utilizes advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning models, and generative AI technologies to provide responses, content, recommendations, analyses, and other outputs (collectively, "AI-Generated Content").

AI Limitations and Risks.

• •Artificial intelligence systems are inherently probabilistic and may produce outputs that are inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate for students, clients, or language learners, misleading, biased, hallucinatory, or otherwise erroneous;
• •AI-Generated Content may misrepresent facts, omit critical context, or present information in a manner that could be reasonably interpreted as factual when it is not;
• •AI-Generated Content, including materials labeled by grade level or by CEFR level (A1–B2), may not accurately match the intended difficulty, vocabulary range, or linguistic complexity, and may be inappropriate for the intended learners;
• •The Service does not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, educational, or other expert advice, and you should not rely on AI-Generated Content as a substitute for independent professional judgment or verification;
• •The use of AI tools carries inherent risks, including but not limited to the potential for misinformation, reputational harm, financial loss, or other damages arising from reliance on such outputs.

Professional Responsibility.

Users must always exercise their own professional discretion and clinical or educational judgment. You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-Generated Content — including Grade Level and CEFR / Language Proficiency worksheets — to ensure they are accurate, level-appropriate, and fully aligned with your school, district, program, or company policies before sharing or using them with students, clients, or language learners.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability.

By using the Service, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with AI-Generated Content. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Story Retells, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to:

• •Any errors, inaccuracies, inappropriate content for students, clients, or language learners, misrepresentations, or omissions in AI-Generated Content;
• •Your reliance on, or decisions made based upon, AI-Generated Content;
• •Any claim that materials labeled as a particular grade level or CEFR level were not appropriate for the intended learners;
• •Any harm, loss, or damage resulting from the use or inability to use the Service or AI-Generated Content, regardless of whether such harm was foreseeable or whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

No Warranty Regarding AI Outputs.

The Service and all AI-Generated Content are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Story Retells makes no representation or warranty that AI-Generated Content will be accurate, reliable, current, level-appropriate, or error-free.

All intellectual property rights in and to the Service, including but not limited to software, designs, logos, text, graphics, and trademarks, are owned by Story Retells or its licensors. You may not use any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

Access to the Service, its features, and all AI-generated worksheets and content ("Generated Content") is available only while you maintain an active, paid subscription in good standing. During the term of an active subscription, Story Retells grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service and any Generated Content solely for your personal and professional use in accordance with these Terms.

You are responsible for downloading and saving any Generated Content you wish to retain before your subscription expires, is cancelled, or is otherwise terminated. In the event you wish to download created content generated from this app, you must do so before your subscription expires.

Upon cancellation, expiration, non-renewal, or failure to pay any subscription fees when due, your right to access the Service and all Generated Content will immediately and automatically terminate without further notice. Story Retells has no obligation to retain, preserve, or provide access to any Generated Content after termination for any reason, including non-payment. You acknowledge and agree that any loss of access to Generated Content resulting from a lapsed, cancelled, or non-renewed subscription will not entitle you to any refund, credit, or other compensation.

All reading passages, worksheets, questions, vocabulary lists, story retell guides, answer keys, CEFR / Language Proficiency materials, and any other materials generated by the Service (collectively, "Generated Content") are and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Story Retells and its licensors. Story Retells retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Generated Content, including all intellectual property rights therein.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Story Retells grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download the Generated Content solely for your personal and professional use as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), educator, or language professional. You may not sell, sublicense, republish, or commercially exploit the Generated Content for any other purpose without our prior written consent.

Story Retells reserves the right to adjust prices for the Service (including subscription plans, add-ons, or any other fees) at any time as needed or as Story Retells sees fit. Any price changes will take effect immediately for new subscriptions and upon renewal for existing subscribers, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Plan upgrades are charged at the full current plan price and take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material price increases where legally required.

In addition to the rights described in the Description of the Service section, we may modify, update, or enhance any aspect of the Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Service.

All fees and charges for the Service are due and payable in advance. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. When you upgrade, you are charged the full price of the new plan and access begins right away. When you downgrade, your current plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. Unused worksheets for when you upgrade or downgrade are not refunded.

You may cancel your subscription at any time, including up to the day before your next renewal date. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access to the Service until that date. All sales are final. Story Retells does not offer refunds, credits, or exchanges for any subscription fees, partial subscription periods, unused time, or any other charges, whether or not you have used the Service during the applicable billing period.

By subscribing, you acknowledge and agree that all payments are non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We take data protection seriously and comply with applicable privacy laws including GDPR (for EU users) and CCPA (for California residents).

By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ALL AI-GENERATED CONTENT, IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, STORY RETELLS MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT:

• •The Service will meet your requirements or expectations;
• •The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
• •Any AI-Generated Content, results, or information obtained through the Service will be accurate, reliable, complete, current, appropriate for students, clients, or language learners, or error-free;
• •Any worksheet labeled as a particular grade level or CEFR level (A1, A2, B1, or B2) will actually meet the linguistic, vocabulary, or complexity expectations associated with that level;
• •Defects in the Service or AI-Generated Content will be corrected;
• •The Service or servers that make it available are free of viruses, malware, or other harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORY RETELLS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES), WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

These Terms of Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in California. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other means. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

The Service is intended solely for use by adults aged 18 or older, including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs), and other qualified professionals. Users must not be minors.

Story Retells is designed to be FERPA-friendly. The Service does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) relating to students or minors. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that no student PII is entered into the Service. You agree not to input any information that identifies or could identify a specific student, including names, school names, student ID numbers, or any other identifying data.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a minor has provided personal information through the Service, please contact us immediately.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Story Retells, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of or inability to use the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including without limitation any intellectual property rights or privacy rights; (d) any claim that your use of the Service caused harm to a third party, including any student or client; or (e) your reliance on or use of any AI-Generated Content in a professional or clinical setting.

Story Retells shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms to the extent such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic or epidemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government actions or regulations, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party service failures (including failures of AI model providers, cloud infrastructure providers, or payment processors), cyberattacks, power outages, or any other cause beyond our reasonable control. In such events, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Story Retells with respect to the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, regarding the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

Story Retells does not warrant or guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or without interruption. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unscheduled outages, third-party service failures, system updates, or other causes within or outside of our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of scheduled downtime where practicable but are under no obligation to do so. You agree that Story Retells shall not be liable for any damages or losses resulting from the unavailability, interruption, or suspension of the Service for any reason.

You may not assign, transfer, delegate, or sublicense your account, rights, or obligations under these Terms to any other person or entity, whether by operation of law or otherwise, without the prior written consent of Story Retells. Any purported assignment in violation of this section is null and void. Story Retells may freely assign or transfer these Terms or any of its rights and obligations hereunder without restriction and without notice to you.

Story Retells respects the intellectual property rights of others. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law.
